Hello.
Could someone please update "Translating:MediaWiki/Credits" page? It's linked on Special:Version page of literally ALL MediaWiki sites across the internet but hasn't been updated since 2013. Since that time many new translators arrived. You should credit their work as well.
Also please consider splitting it into separate subpages for each supported language like "Translating:MediaWiki/Credits/pl" for Polish to make credits more readable and reliable.
Thank you,
No rush. I can wait...
Anyone can update the page: it's not hard, just tedious. After extracting the names in the metadata, you need to clean it up manually. Help finishing the cleanup of this update would be appreciated.
Thanks very much for updating it! Since page is (reasonably) protected I'd appreciate if you remove "Railfail536" entry: it's my previous nickname and redirects to "User:Rail" either way.
This page is so old, last updated on 2013, even it was linked from Special:Version page on any wiki. Can anyone update it? Can we use someting like <categorytree>MediaWiki translators</categorytree> or {{Special:ContributionScores/XX/XX}} so the list is always up to date?
I think it would be good if the script to generate this list would make it into Translate/scripts/credits.php and would be referenced as a comment in the code from gerrit:73611.
There isn't any script. Of course, if someone creates it, all the better. (IMHO it should be MediaWiki's devs' responsibility but it seems they think it's ours.)
This does the trick:
grep -h '@author' * | sed 's/ \* @author //' | sort -b |uniq |sed 's/^.*/* [[User:&|&]]/'
2271 authors at the moment. If there are entries that are similar, they should most likely be fixed by hand.
