Most used messages have all been translated into Kabiye

Now, after a long delay, Kabiye finally appears in the language selector.

thanks, that's a step forward. We have all the translated messages stored in an Excel spreadsheet. Is there anyway of importing them into TranslateWiki without having to paste in each one manually?

Gnangbade (talk)21:46, 11 May 2016

No I don't think so, unless you want to play with Pywikibot to automate it. Had you chosen the download for offline translation option, then you could have given us the file to upload.

Nike (talk)07:25, 21 May 2016

OK, never mind, I've started pasting them in mannually this evening. Done about a third of them, and will get to the others when I can. Thanks for your help.

Gnangbade (talk)19:10, 21 May 2016

Hi I have entered all the messages. What happens now?

Gnangbade (talk)19:06, 23 May 2016

If you have reached the threshold, the language will be included with MediaWiki starting from today. It should reach Wikimedia wikis this week and be included in the next MediaWiki release in about six months.

Nike (talk)19:13, 23 May 2016

Right now it looks like the threshold for automatic export was not reached yet. I will encourage you to continue adding translations and soon it will be including in MediaWiki.

I don't understand. This page lists kabiye as now having 96% of the messages translated, and 4% obsolete:

And the list on this page (messages left to translate) is empty:

So what is there left to do?

Gnangbade (talk)19:01, 26 May 2016
Right now the threshold for automatic export is 18% of MediaWiki core: https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:MessageGroupStats&group=core#sortable:3=asc

Now I realize that earlier you could have reached 18% by translating most used messages. I will attempt to make the threshold lower to match the intention.

It would be great if you could translate some additional MediaWiki core messages – there are simple ones available to quickly get you there.

If you are interested in the details, I wrote some in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/291231/

Please accept my apologies for the delays and changing requirements. This should be the final request from me.

I've updated the docs [1] [2] (I assume you'll merge soon).

Nemo (talk)14:29, 27 May 2016

Thanks for following up on this. I'm completely bewildered by the whole process, so it's good to have some guidance. Translating the 500 most used messages already took 4 people three weeks, so if we have to do more we'll have to get organized. Realistically, that's not going to happen until July at the earliest.

By the way, I don't understand the pages you link to above - they're way too geeky for me. Please could you send me a link to a list of the remaining messages that we need to translate?

Gnangbade (talk)19:48, 27 May 2016

In short: please translate at least 100 messages at [1]. Thanks for your work.

Nemo (talk)21:35, 27 May 2016

OK, we will get to it, probably in July. French is our working language, so please can you tell me how to call up the source list in French, while still keeping Kabiye as the target language?

Gnangbade (talk)18:14, 30 May 2016

Hello Gnangbade, any news? Your translations are more needed than ever. :)
