Inuktitut
Hi! I noticed that you selected Inuktitut as one of your languages. This is quite rare! What brings you here? Do you want to translate a particular project? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:17, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hello, I don't know what brings me here. But I want to translate Wikipedia. And I don't mean by translating the whole article MysticVoyager (talk) 16:18, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- You are in the right place if you want to translate the user interface of Wikipedia, which is definitely necessary and useful.
- If you want to translate Wikipedia article, in whole or in part, then it's done on Wikipedia itself.
- Do you actually know this language well or do you use machine translation? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:27, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Actually, I want to translate the whole Wikipedia page. And I do not mean articles. When I try to find an area where I can translate (on this website) the whole Wikipedia in Inuktitut (for iu.wikipedia.org), I couldn't find it. I am a little busy so I can't respond every minute MysticVoyager (talk) 16:29, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- There were a lot of Wikipedia options when I was searching "Wikipedia" in the projects but I couldn't find the one it matches MysticVoyager (talk) 16:31, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- There are many things to translate for Wikipedia. The first one to complete is "MediaWiki (most important messages)". Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 18:22, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll do that. I may not do it everyday MysticVoyager (talk) 20:17, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- You can do it whenever you're comfortable.
- I do wonder, however: Do you know this language well? I have a few questions about it. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 20:30, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- I think so. But I'm a little busy so I may not respond or translate MysticVoyager (talk) 20:33, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- I'm mostly curious about the writing. Technically, we support both Syllabics and Latin alphabet, but which system is more commonly used in real life? And which of them is more appropriate for websites? Are both equally used, or is one of them more prominent? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 21:04, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- I would say the Inuktitut syllabics as the mostly used but the Latin script is another script is also popular in Inuktitut. So the answer I would say is Inuktitut syllabics and the Latin script is mostly common. For only 1 answer, I would say the Inuktitut syllabics. For the websites (which script is appropriate), it should use the Inuktitut syllabics and the Latin script MysticVoyager (talk) 23:31, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 00:44, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

- If I complete (translating) the part "MediaWiki (most important messages)", which part should I do next after that? I'm just curious MysticVoyager (talk) 01:07, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- I just want to follow up that I am asking a question but you haven't responded like 3 or 4 days ago. Can you respond? MysticVoyager (talk) 19:20, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry: Just continue with the MediaWiki core project. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 15:30, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll do that after I finish the "MediaWiki (most important messages)" first in Inuktitut in Latin script and Inuktitut syllabics then I'll do that MysticVoyager (talk) 15:43, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
