gcf and acf
Hi!
Thanks for your recent contributions to the localization in Guadeloupe Creole!
I am wondering about languages acf and gcf. How similar are they?
There is localization in both of them:
- acf: https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate&group=mediawiki&language=acf&filter=translated&action=page
- gcf: https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate&group=mediawiki&language=gcf&filter=translated&action=page
There are also attempts to write Wikipedia in them:
- acf: https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:PrefixIndex/Wp/acf/
- gcf: https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:PrefixIndex/Wp/gcf/
The Ethnologue site says this about gcf: "All French creoles of the Caribbean are somewhat mutually inherently intelligible (Goodman 1964). Comprehension of Saint Lucia Creole [acf] is 89%."
Should those two languages be localized separately? And should they have separate editions of Wikipedia? Or can they perhaps be merged?
Thank you! Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 18:00, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
