Optional messages

Hi!

Why are you repeatedly translating optional messages, such as MediaWiki:Pagetitle/mnw and MediaWiki:Category-header-numerals/mnw?

Their translations are identical to English, and they are specifically marked as "Optional".

There is no need to translate them at all, unless they are different in your language.

Are you using offline translation? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 17:15, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Amire80 I'm sorry, I'm just trying to figure out how to deal with the mixing of Mon text and Burmese text in the Wiki. but since I am not yet proficient in using Wiki, I seem to have made all kinds of mistakes unintentionally. 𝓓𝓻.𝓘𝓷𝓽𝓸𝓫𝓮𝓼𝓪|𝒯𝒶𝓁𝓀 17:36, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
No problem. You are actually quite proficient!
Are you using offline translation and editing files?
Or do you use the web interface for translation? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 17:44, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't like offline translation or Google translation, but my translation uses only my brain. and to check the spelling, I compare it with the words in the dictionary. 𝓓𝓻.𝓘𝓷𝓽𝓸𝓫𝓮𝓼𝓪|𝒯𝒶𝓁𝓀 17:55, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
OK. I recommend using the lists on your user page under the title "Language assistance" to start your translation sessions. This will take to the most convenient and relevant projects, without optional messages. Optional messages are hidden by default, and you should enable them only if they are different from English. In my opinion, instead of translating untranslated messages, the currently used English calendar should be modified first. The reason is that we are worried that the Mon calendar will disappear at some point due to the use of the English calendar (Practical evidence: Many of the current Mon youth have heard of the Mon calendar, but they lack the ability to understand it). my main goal is to reduce the amount of borrowed vocabulary as much as possible. I feel that it is a shame to use borrowed vocabulary (Practical evidence: အဝ်ဂေတ် is not a Mon language but an English pronunciation, but if အဝ်ဂေတ် continues to be used, I am worried that we Mon people will be ridiculed by other people. The reason is that some posts on Facebook are often found mocking the Mon people, so my worries about the future of the Mon language are very high. the reason use အဝ်ဂေတ် is because the English calendar is not the same as the Mon calendar). thanks 𝓓𝓻.𝓘𝓷𝓽𝓸𝓫𝓮𝓼𝓪|𝒯𝒶𝓁𝓀 06:07, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's up to you and other people who speak, read, and write Mon. The important thing is that you translate it in a way that people will understand. Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 06:33, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
My requirement is that when write in this Mon language, want to write in a disciplined way rather than read and believe. I came to this wiki only for maintenance keeping and protection keeping of Mon language. I want to fully protect the Mon language like Thai scholars. I think you will realize that I am currently a Mon scholar writing a Mon Wiktionary translation dictionary of over a thousand languages, thanks. 𝓓𝓻.𝓘𝓷𝓽𝓸𝓫𝓮𝓼𝓪|𝒯𝒶𝓁𝓀 09:20, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
