MediaWiki:Echo-notification-notice-text-only/de
@Trizek (WMF): I think "message" is "Nachricht". "Mitteilungen" is "notifications".
Ok, bad translation tool :)
I've checked on three different dictionaries since, and, depending of the context, that may be understood as "Messages", "Notifications" or "communications". As far as you think people will not interpret it as a only-for-messages notifications, that's fine.
@Trizek (WMF): Can you point me to an up-to-date documentation of the notification system? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notifications says it is outdated.
As usual, the only up-to-date documentation is on Mediawiki.org.
@FriedhelmW, any update?
@Trizek (WMF): The first screenshot still shows the old notification icons.
Thank you for noticing this. I'll make some other screenshots.
And what about the translation? If you can confirm to me that "Mitteilungen" is not only perceived as "Messages", that would reassure me :)
@Trizek (WMF): I think "Mitteilungen" is OK. At least better than "Notizen". See https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Fragen_zur_Wikipedia/Archiv/2016/Woche_29#.C3.84nderung_bei_Echo:_Was_ist_der_Unterschied_zwischen_.22Meldungen.22_und_.22Notizen.22.3F where "Notizen" is considered bad. See also the discussion on https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Fragen_zur_Wikipedia#Icons_f.C3.BCr_Benachrichtigungshinweise where the new icon is criticized.
@Trizek (WMF): (Last ping was wrong)
Thanks (a lot!), both for your feedback and pointing out some discussions I've missed. :)
