Second time asking to re-open the Gothic translation interface
I would like to ask if the Gothic translation export function of mediawiki can be opened again. The reason given by administrator Siebrand to close it is that it's a dead language and has no use. If this is the reason the export function of the Old English and Nahuatl wiki should be closed too. Now there is an unfair decision of Gothic while Old English is accepted. All wikis havevan interface in their own language so why isn't the Gothic wiki allowed to have that?
This problem is taking more than 1 year now.
I cirrected a lot of the mediawiki (important messages) but I understand that that still isn't a good reason to open it up. Do we need to pay money to get it re-opened? If yes,how much, I know someone who's willing to pay. We will do anything to get it re-opened, but please explain what has to be done to get it re-opened.
MediaWiki core for Gothic is 12%, so even if it was enabled now that is not enough to meet the 13% threshold for exports.
I hope the thing about money is a joke, otherwise it is not appropriate.
I am considering enabling Gothic for these reasons:
- It already has messages in MediaWiki
- Those messages are said to be of a poor quality
- There exists a Wikipedia in Gothic
The thing about the money was indeed a joke, because this issue is persistent for so long. I 'm very well willing to translate more so that it meets the 13%. Thank you so much for wanting to open it up again! :D the people of the online Gothic community will be very happy with that.
Where can I see the 12%? I can only find 57% completion of mediawiki (most important messages).
I am looking the MediaWiki core, which is where that threshold is counted: Special:MessageGroupStats/core. It shows 13% now for me so it should be over the threshold par any issues caused rounding the numbers.
