Hmoob Dawb

In response to your message sent on the 7th, yes please. I would like that arrangement

I posted on Reddit asking for possible Hmong translators who are interested to come forward, but someone had also posted a list of possible translations at http://www.reddit.com/r/Hmong/comments/1q0hcj/questions_about_hmong_dawb_translations_of/ . Is it okay if I added these or some of them to the database as translations? I do not know the language myself but I may be able to input work from another person's dictionary if that's ok.

You can enter translations in translatewiki.net on behalf of other translators. Before doing this however, I recommend that you put a note of your language skills, including Hmoob Dawb, on your user page using the Babel template, syntax {{#babel:mww-}}, and write a note on your user page, explaining that you are inputting translations on behalf of other translators.

I have looked at the list of possible translations and suggest that it might be wise to check "edit summary" with the translator. They need to know that this is a noun phrase, not a verb phrase, before supplying the translation - unless of course you understand enough Hmong to verify that the translation provided is of a noun phrase.

Generally speaking, I would discourage you from adding translations using a dictionary, unless your Hmong skill level is 4 or more, since a dictionary does not provide information on how to use a word in a particular grammatical context. If however, you can find a Hmong speaker with whom you can collaborate, then together you may be able to input more translations than the Hmong speaker could on his own, whatever your Hmong skill level is.

I added the template Template:User_mww-0 to my page, but it is blank. Do you want me to create the template?

Yes, please.
