Page locked since its initial creation in June 2020 | 0 | 06:55, 10 March 2021 |
This Category page is incorrectly locked by the "job queue" since more the 1 month (22 June) It cannot be edited.
- Note: This is once again a bug of the Semantic MetaWiki extension (which makes unsafe assumptions and has numerous problems synchronizing, with concurrent edits made elsewhere; it incorrectly sets the task in the job queue and clears it before committing).
- I signaled this bug once again to Semantic Mediawiki authors, that jsut deny it or ask site admins to run a special (and very dangerous) edit requiring very elevated privilege (as it manipulates the database with direct SQL)... For now Semantic Mediawiki authors still don't want to develop a simpler cleaner tool and they have not fixed their extension (removing the unsafe assumptions); they also deny this is a real problem, even if various other wikis have confirmed this was a severe bug: many pages in this wiki are now incorrectly locked permanently because of this bug which can occur at any time from edits made by any user (it is sufficient to edit a page just to add it to or remove it from a single category to create this bug at any time, even by an anonymous IP user: what they do could be spam or malicious blanking, and this cannot be reverted as the page was locked incorrectly by Semantic MediaWiki).
- And I even wonder if using the "SemanticMediaWiki" extension has any value or real usage on this wiki: it is very slow, and causes more problems like this than what it could solve or improve. In fact, We probably don't need it here, and using Lua modules with Scribunto would be much more helpful and would help improve the presentation, and internationalization of this wiki. I've not seen anything in this wiki that really uses SemanticMediaWiki for something useful, and IMHO, SemanticMediaWiki should better be uninstalled from this wiki (or it should no longer work on category updates: keep the standard MediaWiki categories to Mediawiki itself only, do not feed these categories in Semantic Mediawiki, if it has any useful purpose).
Please admins, run the unlock action as this is clearly a bug of the job queue, that forgot to register the ending event wit hthe job to terminate the update of the semantic queue. In fact, the semantic data has not even run once, where it should have, so even if the categoryisation is registered for Mediawiki, it is still not for Semantic Wiki.
This category was only created once by a single user, never edited after that: this creation was never correctly terminated. This case occurs frequently on other pages of this wiki.
